Michael Jordan divorce leads to thrifty Miami house purchase

michaeljordanmiamihouse

It appears that the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan, is still looking to recover from the $168 million buzzer-beating divorce settlement from ex-wife Juanita in 2007, which went down as the costliest celebrity split of its kind … ever.

“His Airness” just made a modest $281,000 gamble on a three-bedroom home in suburban Miami. The very average 5,500 square foot Kendall residence is expected house the six-time NBA Finals MVP and his new squeeze, Cuban model Yvette Prieto.

According to Page2Live.com, the cheap happy couple actually took out a 30-year, $196,000-mortgage from Suntrust Mortgage to finance the blockbuster deal.

My, my, my … how the mighty have fallen.

Swoosh!

You sound like an idiot. MJ makes $45m a year. He is far from broke. Just helping his girl out.

Old Michael Jordan “He had the Ball In His Hand”. He played it and lost it! Just could not be satisfied and support the woman (Juanita) who had supported him throughout his career. In the end “She’s the slam dunk and 3 pointer”.

I would say yvette is the winner here. Imagine juanita could have been worth more than $600m instead of $150. Now all that money will be going to yvette.

If MJ is not happy with his marriage after 17yrs, he has a right to pursue his happiness. I just think that laws in this country is ridiculous as far as the settlement offer his Ex-wife/Wife received. He worked hard to build his career, not her! I understand that was his wife at the time, responsibility is between both parents. Did she have a job during the course of their marriage, or just relying on his income only?!! I feel like , if she gets the house, he shouldn’t have to pay her anything. If she does get some monatery amount from the divorce proceedings, 168 Million is DEFINITELY NOT FAIR! ! IT’S RIDICULUOS! ! !

Its just sad to me about the structure of the divorce system, a man works hard every day on his career, puts countless hours in the gym to get where he is in his life and a woman does absolutely nothing but suck on him like a damn leech and she is rewarded with 168 million for doing nothing. I know some of you losers and idiots will say well she took care of his kids and supported him, blah blah blah…if someone had unlimited money and resources and time to raise their kids they should stfu because she hasnt lifted a finger and Jordan did all the damn work,…anyone tell me what the hell she do to contribute to his fortune, what the hell did she do..dont give me that emotional support crap..its a joke how people in the country can sue for any little thing and in divorces can get half even though they didnt do a damn thing to help him get that money…if you could ask any girl out there about 90% of them would say it would be easy to raise their kids if finances werent an issue. What a joke this is…

Micheal Jordan settled to pay Juanita that kind of money because he could. I agree she didn’t deserve it but that shows what kind of man Mike is, and as for this new chick she just something to keep him entertained when he in Miami, be for real Mike can have whoever he wants. And besides the only people concerned about how much he paid her is you, I haven’t heard Mike complaining doesn’t look like he skipped a beat he wrote a check and kept it moving!

He’s not broke he just wanted a house that was close to an executive airport and five blocks from a golf course and metropolis. How stupid is this guy? It takes him 45 seconds to drive to his jet now.

Wow, when you make money a factor then it truly becomes one in today’s society. It’s too bad that everyone has to know that kind of private business just because you are a celebrity and putting it on the Forbes list is truly tacky for the both of you, after all that would be between you since no one knew of all your finances in the first place. I, however, do feel that what is yours is yours, what is mine is mine and what is ours is ours, if you take that approach with your next woman or in your marriage, it would not only distinguish “gold diggers” but allow for the creativity of your partner as being independent and career goal minded to make money for herself and with you as a team as well. You truly are a good man, keep it up we women need more like you.
