Bank Sells Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony’s Miami Condo
In May 2010, a major bank seized 1,276 condominiums in Miami at the Icon Brickell. Recently discovered, one of those condominiums were Jennifer Lopez and & Marc Anthony’s. The condominium had a deed-in-lieu filed on it.
The original agreement with the developers and the former celebrity couple was a rent to own deal. They received an attractive lease option with a purchase price of $1,700,000 on or before October 2013.
In early 2010, the bank left their condominium until the very end to sell. An anonymous investor bought the condominium last week for $1,500,000 and assumed their lease option.
Tracy Morgan’s mother in foreclosure with no help
Many of us recently read about ’30 Rock’ star Tracy Morgan, who captured headlines for an episode at the Sundance Film Festival that required an emergency trip to the hospital. Morgan is once again buzzing in the news this week, but it’s not because of his health, but rather the financial hardship of his mother, Alicia Warden.
Mama Morgan claims her son will not rescue her from foreclosure. She lost her job a year ago, and her health has been on a decline, too. His sister, Asia Morgan, said the mother has diabetes and her legs are starting to give out.
Warden owes less than $25,000 on the Youngstown, Ohio, home. She attempted to contact her son for help, and his employee called to offer a $2,000 “one-shot deal.” Meanwhile, if she fails to make a payment by February 23, 2012, the foreclosure process will proceed.
Tracy claims he has been estranged from his mother for 11 years. There has been an occasional phone call, but he has not seen her in that time. As for his sister, he reports there has been little or no contact with her, either.
Asia Morgan said her brother has never been a nice person, and his money just made it worse.
Ouch.
